There is the normal (bad) ending - Ranger, and the good ending - Enlightened. Metro 2033 is a post-apocalyptic first-person-shooter, set in the underground community built in the ruins of a Russian municipal train system, based on the best-selling novel by Dmitry Glukhovsky. Just like in the case of Metro 2033, which ending you get to see after you complete the last chapter, is not the question of any single. The Dark Ones do not come to Artyoms aid but, they appear in the final cutscene. There are 2 endings, based on the moral points you get in the game. Bad ending - Artyom sacrifices his life and detonates the charges, which results in the destruction of the entire station.

Hunter gives Artyom his dog tags and tells him if he does not come back, he must go to Polis and present these to see if they will help his station. In 2033, Artyom, a 20-year-old male survivor and one of the first born in the metro, learns from an elite soldier and mutant hunter, or Ranger, named Hunter that a group of mysterious creatures referred to as the Dark Ones are threatening his station in the Metro. Many animals and humans left behind mutated into creatures known as the Dark Ones, who were left outside for the next 20 years. Russia was targeted with atomic bombs, causing severe radiation across Moscow, forcing the rest of the people to live underground in the metro stations away from the deadly effects of radiation.

It was developed by 4A Games in Ukraine and released in March 2010 for Microsoft Windows and Xbox 360. In the book they just SEEM evil, but they never actively are, except towards soldiers that shoot first.Metro 2033 is a horror first-person shooter video game, based on the novel Metro 2033 by Russian author Dmitry Glukhovsky. In the game, they approach hostile and want to stop Artyom, sorta being obviously evil. Artyom then notices that they were wrong and feels as something is missing now. His vision ends and the missiles launch, hitting their "hive". In the end right before they fire the missile, he gets a vision of one Dark One reaching out to him, helping him up and offering him to help humanity and never intended to be hostile. He always runs away and wakes up in his dreams before they can take any action, they only walk towards him. In the book, the Dark Ones approach Artyom in his dreams, but never really hostile.

If you don't intend to read the book to see the similarities: The book ends SLIGHTLY differently, but similarly. This ending is apparently no longer considered part of the Metro 2033 canon, as Metro: Last Light (and the novel, Metro 2034) picks up after the Ranger ending. Concluding that the future of humanity, and the Dark Ones, stretches beyond them like an endless metro tunnel. Now we just need to know which ending is canon this time around. The ending is always the same, there's only one ending.Īny other ending would be wrong to the book. and he was not ready for it to do so again. Following off the stellar Metro 2033 and Last Light, Exodus feels like a misstep for. where the missiles destroy the Dark Ones. The ending i got was: the "If it's hostile kill it" ending. Just as in Redux, this games offers two different endings which are influenced by a hidden moral system. While I feel that the moral system was much more punishing in 2033 - as it pushed you toward the canon-book ending - the one in Last Light is easier to navigate and a little more forgiving.
